Felix Heininger

This site is dedicated to Felix Heininger and his art. Even though he never worked as a full-time artist, painting was his passion throughout his entire life.

Above all and because this is what art to a certain extent is about, the aim is to show these paintings to a wider public. If you happen to like them (or just some of them), then this is the biggest compliment you can give.

When looking at the quantity of paintings it is evident that technique and style varied and sometimes even changed dramatically over time. Some themes reoccur, most often with a different interpretation, while others were temporary. These changes are clearly inspired by circumstances of life as well as curiosity, interest and the will to evolve and try something new.

Focus here is to showcase these most popular themes and highlights from different creative periods, while chronological order or accurate representation of the catalogue raisonné are of lesser importance. Therefore, over 100 paintings were chosen. The majority dates back to the 1970ies, some were painted in the 1960ies, while the newest ones are from the 1990ies. Today most paintings are in the family collection or other private collections. Overall the catalogue raisonné contains more than 500 pieces of work and has yet to be finished.
